I'm looking at the 235/80/16 Sailun also. My rim is only rated for 80psi. The Sailun max is 110 psi. Many people say run tires at the max rating on side wall for trailer tires. Sailun has a,tire Pressure chart for 80psi I believe supporting 3400 lbs so that would indicate that if they have a chart for 80 psi that you can run them at that Pressure if it supports the weight required?
Thanks for your comments, but I don't think I want to go down that route. Have not checked my rims yet, but if they are 80 psi rims and I run the Sailuns at 80 psi, what have I gained over the Maxxis tires that are rated 3420 pounds at 80 psi ? And if I understand correctly, the Sailuns will run hotter if inflated to only 80 psi.
In theory, right now each Maxxis tire is carrying about 2800 pounds and I still had a problem.
My whole game plan is to gain an additional safety margin. If I get the Sailuns, they will be run at 110 psi on rims rated for that.
I agree you want maximum capacity which creates maximum margin.
