Am I missing something with this post???? OP states that they can either get the "E" rated Michelin XPS or a "G" rated Sailun tire, but states they're both "OVERKILL":h "IF" they're both "overkill", then why recommend a G rated tire when an "E" will more than suffice??? Again, just going by the OP's own words? Don't get me wrong, if they can go with a G rated tire and all will be well with the world then have at it. But if an "E" is more than sufficient, then they're several that would more than suffice, ie the RIB's and the tire that Chris recommended, R250's...If OP has 6,000# rated axles, the E rated tires mentioned will be more than enough and be a very safe tire...
Again, comparing a G rated tire to an E rated tire isn't really a fair comparison to the E, of course the G will handle more weight...Both the Michelin and the Sailun are more than capable in their application and more so if one uses an E where a D was or a G where an E was...
