That may be true for a POS ST tire but not true for a quality LT Trailer tire. Don't believe me contact GY Tech support.
They make tire weight/inflation charts for a reason.
Your hijacking the OP thread but maybe he will learn something that experienced trailer owners already know.
Its true for any tire.
I've already contacted Goodyear. They didn't recommend going up in load range/size to the point the tire had to be derated below max sidewall pressures by approx 10-12 percent. (Their words).
In fact they gave me this from their website;
Goodyear Tire and Rubber .... weighing RVs
Special Considerations
Unless trying to resolve poor ride quality problems with an RV trailer, it is recommended that trailer tires be inflated to the pressure indicated on the sidewall of the tire. Trailer tires experience significant lateral (side-to-side) loads due to vehicle sway from uneven roads or passing vehicles. Using the inflation pressure engraved on the sidewall will provide optimum load carrying capacity and minimize heat build-up.

Minimum pressure charts are not the best idea for the P/LT or ST tire on any trailer (including RVs) for several reasons already talked about.
