Read your warranty close on Carlisle tires. Play around with the tire pressure will void the tires warranty.
Per Carlisle;
-Time and the elements weaken a trailer tire.
– 3 to 5 years is the average life expectancy of a trailer tire,regardless of mileage.
– It is estimated that in approximately three years, roughly one-third of a tire's strength is gone
– After three years, depending upon storage and conditions of usage, consider replacing trailer tires even if they have tread depth remaining.
– After five years, trailer tires should be replaced in all cases.
and this from Carlisle tire warranty web pages;
-Maintain air pressure at the maximum PSI recommended on the tire sidewall.
The Warranty is void if the tire or wheel fails due to damage from improper inflation pressures, exceeding the maximum speed limit, or overloading the tire beyond the maximum load capacity stated on the sidewall
The Michelin XPS Rib is a all steel ply carcass commercial grade LT tire and is recommended for commercial trailer service by Michelin.
The XPS Rib and the Bridgestone Duravis R-250 both are the top two commercial grade 16" LT E tires for any trailer...... including RV trailers.
This tire has years of excellent service from all types of trailering forums. Its common to run these tires for 7-8 years with no issues.
