I use Chlorinating Granules. Can find them at swimming pool or spa supply, even Wal-Mart. One (1) teaspoon into the hose, hook hose to inlet and fill tank. One teaspoon is good for my 100 gallon water tank. Turn off water heater. When tank has been filled, turn off water supply, turn on pump. Let all faucets, both hot and cold run until you smell the chlorine. Let stand for 24 hours. Drain tank. Fill with fresh water and then flush system. Being sure to flush water heater tank. Works very good for me.
