- rexlionExplorerHow do these dash cams function? Do they turn on/off automatically with the ignition switch, or does one have to remember to start them? What happens when the memory gets full? Are they affordable or expensive? Easy to install or difficult?

I do think we should demand tighter controls on who gets and keeps a drivers license.
No, we just need the idiots to weed themselves out through attrition.

That’s fine with me , but unfortunately they take us with them . - cummins2014Explorer

please summarize exactly what controls you would impose that would have prevented this incident. If a patrol man/sheriff, etc. would have seen this occur I would assume the driver would be cited for reckless driving. but again, how do you test for stupidity?

No idea , my point was just the fact of why not have some better guidelines, anything would be an improvement over who gets a drivers license , it’s pretty clear many do not belong behind the wheel , and get people killed . I agree it’s tough to regulate. - memtbExplorerThe world is full of idiots.....Denver seems to have exceeded it’s allotment! I’ll drive an additional 500 miles, just to avoid the “Front Range” of Kolorado!
Nice driving....glad you avoided contact! memtb - garyp4951Explorer IIII'm glad that no accident happened, and I will for sure be getting me a dash cam.

Thats a strange looking tag, looks like they were confused or brake checking you.
looks to me like a temporary tag. I bet that could be made legible if desired.
bumpy - I think they continued braking after scaring the **** out of themselves as they almost hit the divider.
Very poor driving. Lucky to be alive. No reason to go in front of the OP. - garyp4951Explorer III

I would like to see a soft barricade, maybe the plastic reflector posts, extended out from the guardrail bumper to discourage the last second route change.
Would that discourage, or just move the problem?
Maybe we could have some kind of clearing house where this kind of video could be sent, prosses to identify owner of the vehicle, then notify their insurance company.
After all a large percentage of the population goes batsnot crazy about government regulation to protect the public, but are perfectly fine with a for-profit company taking the same action. - rhagfoExplorer III

When folks ask why you need a dash cam here's a good example. Otherwise without one, "you rear ended him", "you should have anticipated" ya da ya da.
X2 to the dash cam, best insurance!
