Scary video - "How to Spot a Lemon."

Wow...scary!! I would never buy a rig this age, but informative and a great example. I'm sure that you guys know all about it!

Here is the video.

It gave me a better understanding of the Prowler Regal that we looked at that had the soft floor.

We will be sure to look for these things, if we buy used....but, it kind of scared me away from buying used, too!
  • I like the tip about the screws being rusted. I would have never thought that they rusted from the inside.
  • Yes, very informative video for those looking to buy used. Thanks for sharing...

It can happen to new purchases as well. Just look thru some of the post on here by people who bought new and have water leaks

Take that with a grain of salt.
When the screws are installed they scratch the paint off of them. They aren't stainless screws and that plastic cover isn't waterproof.
Result, screw heads will get rusty.

Some info good, some info is salesman propaganda to seperate you from your money on a trade in.

We knowing bought our 1st 5er with a soft floor in the kitchen. I am very handy, and was able to complete all necessary repairs, BUT it is amazing how well additional damage is hidden.
Once complete I had replaced the last 6' of the floor, 2/3 of the back wall, and about the bottom 1/4th of the back drives side wall including the wheel well. Took about a month of weekends and evenings. It was not nearly as bad condition as that unit.
  • I hope the video would at least inspire RV owners to keep up with maintenance. Sad to see an RV neglected like that. :(

Yes! I was inspired, and was thinking that same!
