Sedona, AZ

Hey all - - Trying to plan a trip to Sedona this spring for some motorcycle cruisin' - - Anybody have any nice campgrounds you can recommend in the area? - -
  • what about Flagstaff? It's much cooler up there and closer to the Grand Canyon. The ride to Sedonia is pretty nice too.
  • I'm in Sedona right now on vacation (regrettably, without my bike). Make sure you ride 89A between Prescott Valley and Jerome! Amazing road, I was really wanting my bike today! The "ghost town" in Jerome is very cool too. More of a junk collection than a ghost town but he has some amazing junk!
  • Thanks for the info on the parks everybody - Pretty cool site harley-dave - Got it bookmarked for future reference - Thanks for that - Nutinelse2do / Old-Biscuit I'll check out the Rancho Sedona spot - We always like to be by the water somewhere - -

X2 on Whiskey Row - This is the old town of Prescott and you can still see bullet holes in the walls of the bars from the old time days... There may even be some newly added bullet holes hehe...

Always have a good time in old town Prescott... Lots of history here once being the Arizona Territory Capital...

Sedona has the BELL ROCK MOUNTAIN and read up on the on-goings there as well. BELL ROCK is suppose to be a space portal and you may find some dancing ladies on top of the mountain at times...

  • Good Morning

Just an FYI about Sedona and Oak Creek canyon. the canyon will be closed for a month this summer for road construction. see the article Here. I agree the Dead horse is a good campground. Easy run up to Jerome (Old mining town) for a burger from there as well close to old town cottonwood.

For other campgrounds/ RV parks in the area check RV Park reviews.

  • We stayed at Distant Drums RV Resort in Camp Verde. Short drive to Sedona and Jerome which is a MUST! Take the Harley up there and take the road towards Chino Valley....awesome! May as well go into Prescott and hit 'Whiskey Row'.
  • It is not in Sedona, but 18 miles to the south in the town of Cottonwood you will find Dead Horse Ranch SP. Great CG that is convenient to lots of places to visit.... including Sedona. :C
