The AZ Republic had a story today (3/8) that reports 89A will be limited to one lane in each direction this summer!

We live local and haven't stayed at that park. My brother and SIL definitely like that park.

There has been a lot of good info about the area already. One thing that I have not seen mentioned yet is the burgeoning wine industry. Apparently, the climate and dirt in the area are right for growing grapes. there are a lot of vineyards and locally wineries. In addition, since I see you tow a Jeep, there are a lot of places to 4 wheel.

We go to Sedona and have stayed at the Sedona RV Ranch. Not bad but as they said pricy. We now stay at a relative's west of town. If you take 17 to 179 a couple items. The last 5 miles or so is a steep downhill. Keep a close eye on your speed. 179 to the RV park will take you through about 9 fairly large round abouts. Not an issue in itself but a pain none the less.

If you go to the next exit (number 293) and take Cornville Road to 89a, it will be a bit longer but you only have 2 or three round a bouts at he end and some traffic from the high school to the campground.

Safe trip and enjoy Sedona.

We stayed there once. It is very expensive & the sites are tight (our RV was 24 ft).
We have been back to the area several times since and always stay at Dead Horse Ranch state park, in Cottonwood. It is a beautiful location & only a 20 minute drive to Sedona.

I don't mind rules as long as they're *reasonable* and enforced equitably and consistently, but the list (plus the tight sites and the prices)at Rancho Sedona put me off staying there. I really can't explain to my dog why I can't take her outside the RV to piddle after 10 or before 7! :R

We stayed at Rancho Sedona RV Park. It is a beautiful shady and clean park. They have a LOT of rules and I would suggest that you obey them. They threw out one family for not adhering to the "dog can't be left unattended while you are inside your RV" rule while we were there. I think our favorite "crazy" rule was "No one outside after 10pm". Not "quiet" after 10pm...." but can't be outside your RV!! That said......We had a bit of trouble with our cable and they were VERY quick to respond. The woman who came to our RV to help (I believe her name was Star) was a gem. She spent a lot of time with us and made sure we were happy before she left. The bathrooms are spotless as were the grounds. The location was great! We would stay there again...rules and all!

We took a "combo" Pink Jeep Tour (don't remember the combo but it was at sunset) which was well worth the money. If you are a hiker you must hike West fork Oak Creek Trail. Go early as the parking lot fills up by 9am! Don't miss it...it was spectacular! If you have a dog...they are welcomed on this trail as well. Have fun! We did!

Sunset Crater National Monument, Wupatki National Monument, Walnut Canyon National Monument, Montezuma Castle and Montezuma Well National Monuments, Tuzigoot National Monument, Palatki and Honaki Ruins, V-Bar-V Heritage Site, Verde Canyon Railroad, Fort Verde State Park, Cathedral Rock, the town of Jerome and Schnebly Hill Road.
