Sewer Flush ??

I have also dropped a 20lb bag of ice down the toilet, take a short drive and that seems to help get the chunks loose.....

that works but only have a small amount of water in the tank when you do that so it slides around and bangs against "stuff". if your tank is fairly full, all the ice will do is bob around in the water.

Agree!!!!

Black tank only. Doesn't need to be done every time but it is a good idea to rinse the tank out a couple times a year and before any long period of non-use.

I personally don't drink campground water, may cook with it but that's boiled

If you are worried about water filling the tank get a garden hose timer

I dump the black then fill the tank one or two more times and dump to clean it out.
Close the black valve, turn on the tank flush, and just check through the toilet to keep an eye on the water level so you don't overflow.

If I know my black tank is only partially full (takes a lot more than a weekend for just the 2 of us), I will turn on the flush hose for about 30 seconds before pulling the dump handle, otherwise, I pull the handle =first=, then turn on the flush water while it drains. When the flow slows to the hose only, I'll close the dump valve for about 3-4 minutes, shut the hose off, and dump again. Shut the black handle and pull the grey to flush out the hose. If you're really concerned about the black tank, take a bucket and "top load" it with more water before dumping. Water is, usually, your friend in the black tank. I'll also run about 20-30 seconds of water into the black tank to keep it "wet" while in storage.

It really is not a problem because the flush has a vacuum breaker. It just looks bad!

I actually have about a 10" hose with a small ball valve attached to the flush inlet that is closed before I attach the white supply hose. I then turn on the water then open the ball valve. I then close the ball valve when done flushing and then turn off the water and remove hose. So I am extra protected. I like the short hose I leave it connected it makes it easier to attach water hose.

You might also want to get into the habit of closing the dump valve, letting a few gallons of water go into the tank, then finally disconnect the hose. This will leave water to slosh around & prevent any solid buildup as you merrily drive along.

Oh yeah, also don't leave the valve open at a CG. Dump at least after a few days.
