LOTS of folks use a similar set-up (me too).

For me the pull-out rain gutter......is used for a sewer hose support when needed between the RV & the in-ground sewer dump.

Cap on the post is a simple hinge arrangement utilizing a $2.50 post cap with a tie at the bottom.

Be as creative as you like....sometimes "on the cheap" is way better than store bought..;)

BTW - *If* you are in a hurry to get going, a large plastic storage container in the basement will do just fine..;)
