short bed - sliding hitch vs sidewinder?
Newbie to 5th wheel arena. I'm in the throes of figuring out my next rig. I'm planning to go with a short bed "half-ton" (nay-sayers, please hold your tongue this time...already hashed that out ...

We had a 2006 Dodge Mega Cab with a 2010 Durango KZ 1500.
The dealer had installed a Reese slider on delivery, unfortunately when the slide was out the pin box hit the TV tailgate and made a dent. The dealer replaced the pin box with a Sidewinder pin box and a TV 5th wheel Reese. All was good except like most the hook up and disconnect were tricky.
Dealer then replaced the TV 5th wheel with a Husky 16K W which has an articulated head. It made a world of a difference.... easy hook up and disconnect.
COMBO: Husky 16K W 5th wheel with a Reese Sidewinder.
PS: no cost to us for the combo... we have a great RV dealer who worked for us.
