If you have the money and want the truck to ride smooth going down the road and want the 5th wheel to ride smoothly down the road with no strain on the truck or 5th wheel . Buy a air hitch. When I bought my new 2006 carriage in 2006. I spent the money on a 25k air safe hitch. Have not regretted it. The first thing the wife said when we were going down the road. Was that you don't even know the 5th wheel is back their. And unless I slam on the brakes in a emergency stop. Nothing moves in the trailer. I mean dishes or anything. So if you got the money for a air hitch you won't regret it. Plus it only hurts when you write the check out. After that, you will be happy.
