We're heading out in Sept for a week in Utah (Zion and Bryce). We're spending the first night in Las Vegas (KOA) and then onto the parks from there. My trailer has a 30amp service. Is it wise to carry a 50-30amp dogbone adapter with me? Do campgrounds ever have a 50amp receptacle only? I already have the adapter for 30amp to 3 prong plug. I'm thinking it might be worthwhile to carry the 50/30 adapter if either there is no 30amp plug or, for some reason it doesn't work. Have any of you ever been stuck without power because you didn't have one of these on hand?
Surprised you felt the need to ask.
You're *NOT* looking at a major expense......
sooo.....as others have indicated, it's "wise" to carry 'em all.
Nothing worse than to need one and not have one - when you need it.

You're right. They're cheap and I plan to get one. I have been camping mostly in CGs that I'm familiar with. Our trip in September will take us places we haven't been. One campground (an overnight in Las Vegas) advertises the site as a 50 amp site. That raised a question to me whether that might mean it's 50 amp ONLY. I wasn't aware whether there was such a thing or not. It turns out that there is. So, this thread taught me something and it appears to have taught others as well. This is a great site and I appreciate all the information available here.
