I have one, and use it ALL the time. even if there is a 30A plug. why? Because my TT has been known to trip the 30A breaker on the pole. Never has tripped the 50A. I use the 30A to run the outside fridge, griddle, and toaster oven.
I find that happens from time to time. My guess the 30 breaker has been activated too often making it weak. Some times the 30A has been used so much it is wore out or broken. I pointed it out to a camp ground manager once that the 30A out outlet might need replacing, he got all bent out of shape and said there was nothing wrong with it. It was so loose my cord would not say in it and would just fall out
I've camped in sites where I had to use a bungee cord to hold the plug in the socket.
