We bought an 08 this summer that had a side winder/5th AB and the dealer that installed it for the original owner cut a slot in a Teflon disc and put it on. I've never had one and I didn't give it a second thought. It worked fine and kept from scraping off the paint but it's not necessary. I have a LB truck so I took the side winder off and reused the 5th AB and moved it back about 10" so it's the length of a standard pinbox. I sure don't miss hitching with that sidewinder - PITA! The sidewinder has Teflon discs top and bottom and the plastic bushing in the turret looks like EHMW. It turned pretty darn tight and I think some chain lube spray would be fine on the plastic pivot parts. Craig
