Worst. Staff. Ever.
To be clear, I'm only referring to the paid staff. Hosts were reasonable, but the uniformed staffer is on a serious power trip.
We arrived about 12:15, and were bruskly informed that check in was at 1300, even though our spot was vacant. Knowing the site was a back-in, we disconnected our tow vehicle, and were just as rudely informed that if we didn't tow it past the gatehouse, we'd be charged for the extra vehicle.
Dumb, but hey, it's her job.
At 1250, a line of RVs were lined upon the entrance road. One dared to pull up to the gatehouse at 1252, and was promptly sent back out to the end of the growing line.... As was the guy who followed him.
That put us first in line, so we waited until exactly 1259 to start moving... My wife walked up to the counter, and waited until exactly 1300 to check-in, even though we'd prepaid and there was nothing to do but hand us our parking tags.
I then had to block the road by our site to disconnect the tow dolly...
We've stayed in a bunch of state parks and beaches, but this is the only one I've found that is this rigid in their interpretation of the rules, and that's the individual working there. We had a similarly bad experience several years ago, and it was the same uniformed staffer, so I know thousands of other folks have experienced this, and write it off because of the proximity to the water...
