The fuse blows as soon as the furnace is hooked up. It doesn't even need to be running. The fuse is a 20amp (the correct size) I have looked at the wires many, many times and I cannot see where they would be hooked up wrong but obviously something isn't right.
Without the furnace on the circuit the fridge turns on and off fine but as soon as I add the furnace to the circuit the fuse blows. The fridge doesn't even need to be on for it to blow.
I guess I will look at this again tomorrow to see if I can figure it out.
On the furnace frame should be an ON/OFF switch......turn it OFF
Then connect wires......fuse blows.....short in wiring between furnace and t-stat
Fuse doesn't blow......turn switch ON..fuse blows......short in wiring inside furnace---maybe even motor.
On Edit:
Might also try unplugging connector on circuit board and then connecting power.
If fuse blows.then short in wiring going to furnace
If fuse doesn't blow..then plug connector back on to board.
Fuse blows....short in connector or on board
I hate trying to find shorts!
