We chose our 5er with the ability to get into SPs & go drycamping very much in mind. Parameters were written down & the chop was put to many models for one reason or another. It did not take long to come down to less than 5 possiblitys.
We started trying to stay below 32'. That rule got bent to 35 LOA. We are a 34 model meaning we are a bit over 35 with the extended pinbox.
For drycamping if it did not have 80 gal freshwater capacity it got thrown off the list. We have 100gal. Battery capacity, or at least space for a large battery bank was high on the priority list. Inside it had to have a large workable galley, not one of those side galleys with next to no work room. It had to be "L" shaped or have an island.
Don't want to get too deep into the truck debate but it sure is nice having more than enough truck if alot of traveling is going to be done than one that barely meets specs.
