Skylight above shower

I had great success cleaning and polishing the the skylight dome (outside and inside) with Meguiar's Plast-X Clear Plastic Cleaner and Polish.

I must say on my fifth wheels skylights, I win the KISS award. I unscrewed the cowling and pulled the light down and used a 33 Gallon black trash bag folded neatly in half. I laid this upon the skylight and screwed it back in. This blocked heat, light, and UVs that fade the heck out of your shower. Then when I traded it, I pulled the trash bag out. Looked stock and pretty until the new owner will post on RV.net trying to figure out how to keep the light and heat out.

I cut reflectix to fit the outer most dimensions of the skylight and have it attached with velcro in several places down each side. It keeps the light\heat out well enough, and can easily be removed if desired.

This works for us, I installed it within weeks of buying our trailer in 2004 and it still works perfectly now.

Ours has an exhaust fan in the shower instead of the sky light.

Lifestyle uses a Fantastic fan roof vent over there showers, instead of the skylight. A standard roof vent insulator works.

We ordered our 1996 Carriage with a bathroom skylight in the shower and ordered the shade option. When we want light we keep it open. When we don't or when it is extremely hot weather, we just slide the cover closed.

The bubble reflective window cover for the main door fits the skylight. Been using them for years. I get them from RV dealers, I believe they are made by Camco.
