Skyline RV

We are looking at purchasing a 2013 Walkabout(Koala?)34ts fifth wheel made by Skyline but cannot seem to find much in the way of information, and alot of it is conflicting. The web site for Skyline doesn't have any info on fifth wheels old or new and even the dealers don't seem to have anything. I have seen floor plans for the Walkabout and the Koala 34ts and they are the same but there does not seem to be anything out there but floor plans. The trailer is new, leftover stock from a bankrupt dealership, that our local dealer purchased. I want to have some info of my own before I talk to them. One sales rep called it a Koala the other called it a Walkabout and at the time I thought one was the manufacturer and the other the model. We found out about it at a trailer show but have not seen it yet. What is the story with Skyline ....anyone know? does anyone have one of these?

  • We are going to see it tonight, they hauled it into the bay so they could open the slides and get it cleaned. Hoping it is/was a reputable brand, I saw some people on this web site have Skylines and don't seem to be complaining too much. Thanks for the info..my e-mail to Skyline went unacknowledged and unanswered.
  • We bought a 28' walkabout 5th wheel about 18 months ago and really like the unit. I don't really ncare for the slide out type but we have not had any problems. I tow it with an 08 F350 diesel crewcab shortbed and use a pullrite 5th wheel. We have the bunkhouse model. One thing to watch is make sure the slideouts are in when you are looking. That is to make sure that you can get to the bathroom nand open the fridge. Some units you can't do this.
  • Skyline is now part of Evergreen.

  • Skyline was sold recently to, I think, Cavco (sp). But before the sale Skyline eliminated the Koala, Wakabout and the Ecocamp brands. Sluggish sales ad trying to rebrand itself.
