Sleeper sofa option

We have a Cameo Fifth Wheel with a inflatable air mattress sleeper sofa. When we purchased our trailer we thought that would be fine for occasional guests however it really is a pain and would like to have a pull out mattress instead. Anyone have suggestions on a replacement. I see most furniture stores sleepers are over 80 inches wide and our current sofa is only 6 ft with a queen air mattress. Wouldn't mind going to a full size mattress instead. Or should we be looking at rv furniture and if so any suggestions where to look?

  • Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I am going to check out the lazy boy furniture and maybe some of the other name brand furniture stores suggested. It seems what people are saying getting special rv furniture really isn't necessary. Also I love the do it yourself sight, I will show it to my husband but not sure if it would work with our layout. Thanks again for taking time to reply to my question.
  • Could try building a custom bed to fit like this RV sofa that someone built in a camper van. It doesnt seem all that difficult. If you have someone handy around to help you it should mean a fairly low cost alternative.
  • Depending on how often it's being used, and your financial situation, you may want to just get an air mattress to place on the sofa. It would take away that valley that makes those sofas tough to sleep on, and you can deflate it when you don't need it.

We use a 2" memory foam pad on our sofa, and our daughter seems to be OK with it. I just fold it up and put it behind the sofa, or up on the cab-over mattress, when the sofa is back in "sofa" mode!:)
  • We have a sofa bed in our P/T. However the mattress is so skinny That we are looking to up grade to a better one, do to that you can feel nothing but springs.. Yes take a look at lazy boy you may find what you need:W
  • Did you try La Z Boy, Idea, Crate and Barrel? Internet?
