Slide keep stopping when retracting

Our 2009 Montana has developed a problem and I bet ours is not the only one ! Our main slide keeps stopping when we retract it. The hydraulic oil tank is full, I read an article some time ago about this same issue but am unable to remember where or how to fix issue. Any help?

You can also parallel two 40 amp self-resetting breakers.

Many of us have done this.

Thank you for the information, tried to by more than a 50 circuit breaker today and had no luck . Will just replace with same size (50amp) until I can find a larger one! Thanks again!

Lippert tech told me to get an 80 amp resettable from NAPA, not an RV store.

If they stop for a few seconds and then move again, maybe stop again, move again then it is most likely the auto reset circuit breaker something like this. You may hear a clicking sound just before it will restart. Usually happens on extending also.

Inexpensive and easy to replace. Available at RV parts stores and many auto parts stores. Look in the front storage compartment. Likely you will find two of them, one for the slides and one for everything else. Look on the side for the amp rating.

And as mentioned above, join the MOC forum for all things Montana.

X2...we upgraded ours to an 80 amp breaker....

  • The self-resetting CB is shot. Either replace it or consider installing two in parallel. A common problem and lots of solutions available in the Montana Owners Club (MOC) forum. www.montanaowner.com.
