slide out awning adjustment?

i have two my slde outs with awnings. One is tight and doesn't flap, the other is loose. How difficult is it to adjust and where can i get info on procedure.
  • It is possible to increase the tension on an existing slide topper.

That said, there is a spring inside the roller tube that can rip a finger off in a flash. If you are not really familiar with how to insert the safety pin back into the roller, this adjustment should be left to a qualified RV tech.

    Be careful out there.
  • i guess they are slide toppers... awning covers the top when the slide goes out.. when they are dry ( not holding any water) one is tight and does not flap, the other is rather loose and any wind causes lots of flapping
  • You need to put the slide in and back out.it should tighten up unless the spring is broke.is it full of water?
