slide-outs & generator 5th wheel
Hydraulic slide-outs vs electric slide-outs....any opinions?? Also, placement of generator in bed of truck vs. front of 5th wheel which would be bedroom inside?? Helpful opinions would be appreciated!...

Only have had electric slides with only one problem in 20 years. A wire nut came loose at the motor connection. Took about 15 minutes to discover the problem and fix it.
Front storage Onan, very convenient (remote start), didn't disturb our sleep.
In pickup bed, chance of theft and the need to unplug to take the truck somewhere. No remote start.
After the Onan died, I bought two Honda 2000i and carry them in the truck bed but put them in the cab at night. When running we put the generators on the right side of the 5th wheel where they can be locked using a heavy cable and logging chain with two pad locks to the frame. After we are done with them for the day, I let them cool and then put them in the cab for the night.
