Slideouts moving/stopping

Having problems with my slideouts when moving in or out. The 5er is a 2006 Copper Canyon Sprinter (Keystone) with Lippert hydraulic slides. Bedroom slide works fine, it's the other two. One or both will move 6 - 10 inches then stop. After waiting 20 - 30 seconds, when you hit the switch they will move about 6 - 10 inches then stop again. Some other posts on the same topic suggested it may be a circuit breaker problem, but I can't find any circuit breakers. Battery is new and fully charged so it's not a battery problem. Sure would appreciate it if any one has any ideas on how to fix this.
  • I have a 04 Keystone Challenger that started doing that. My auto reset breaker was in the battery compartment mounted on the side wall. They do get old and worn out and start acting up. They are black and about a inch or so wide. I replaced mine and the trouble went away. They are not very expensive and is a cheap first try to fix the problem. Good luck.
  • The breaker you're looking for will look something like this, and as said it will probably be on the wall in the battery compartment.

This is a fairly common problem, and the breaker is almost certainly the cause.
  • Both previous posters are absolutely correct, in my opinion. That is a high temperature relay and not technically a circuit breaker, I do believe. They are usually mounted on the wall of the battery compartment. Old/stiff rubber seals on the slides and old batteries can add to the problem. It requires good current from the battery to operate the slides. Shore power alone won't do it. I'd change the relay first of all. $10-$20 as I recall.
  • Likely it will have a red cover on it and look something like this.

Amp rating should be stamped on the side. And it is called an auto reset circuit breaker although it is nothing more than a piece of bimetal with electrical contacts attached. Here is what a bad one looks like.

  • Thanks guys. A picture is worth a thousand words particularly the one showing the red covering. Now I know exactly what I am looking for and I know exactly where they are! Thanks again!
