Slow leak

Could be a leak in the valve stem. I had a slow leak in RV tire and at another time my truck and in both cases it was a leak at the valve.

In addition to that pin hole in the rim when brand new, I had a second wheel develop a slow leak, it too turned out to be a pin hole in the rim, but took three years before it showed up.

Yes my concern also, leaving on a trip in a week . I will get it off tomorrow ,and get it to a tire shop .

I did air it up to 110 psi, and did the soaping just around the valve stem. Nothing I could see. At this point I may take it off, and have it checked out . I am just afraid at less then a psi a day, its going to be tough to find. I can live with what its doing, but my concern is its going to go bad in a hurry , like someone mentioned ,a possible cracked rim. Also mentioned corrosion , I see a bit of discoloration on the valve stem down at the rim, a bit different then the rest.

These wheels are less then two years old. They have never had any air loss until about six weeks ago. They actually sat all winter ,without a problem., no air loss in any of them .Took it on a trip to Arizona , sat in a RV park for a couple weeks ,when I turned on the TPMS ,that one tire was down about 5-6 psi , and now as said been sitting again for the past six weeks ,and was down 25 psi. So It developed this leak on the 500 miles to Arizona . No issues prior to this trip.

Spend $15 and have the rim cleaned, the tire remounted and sealed at a local tire shop. I would never head out with a tire that is leaking. Just an accident waiting to happen.

Aluminum rims can corrode. That ended up being the reason the first two tire shops I went to couldn’t find the leak.

Had a similar issue in a car tire. Lost 10 pounds over three months. Every three months. Nobody could find it. Had the tire removed so I could spray the interior part of the rim with urethane in case it was porous. Took off the valve stem -metal with a tpms sensor- and found a very fine corrosion line going between the wheel and the rubber part of the valve. Cleaned the valve and rim and put it back together without spraying. Four years and no air loss. We had lived where a lot of salt was used. Now the only salt is on the food. Annual average snowfall went from 93 inches to .05 inches a year.

I had one that turned out to be a cracked rim.
