Use this to seal around the vent. Go on the roof, clean and inspect the old caulking, then remove what ever comes off easily (peels off with fingers, or scrapes off with plastic putty knife), and install new caulking.
Checking and raplacing caulking is routine maintenance. Maybe, it never leaked before. Maybe, it's been an ongoing issue. Doesn't matter, this won't be your only time caulking.
Use self leveling on the roof, and non leveling around doors and windows, etc.
