No, as a matter of fact, the majority didn't rule.
Hopefully we won't need to go too much further towards political discussion, but all that needs to be said is:
The majority rules. - MNGeeks61Explorer

Or at least the electoral collegerules, as things look right now.
Again, political posts are going to get closed fast...I will comment, that if it's for their candidate, it seems people are generally happy with the electoral college system.
How many times has a candidate won the popular vote but lost the electoral? This will only be the 5th. - NRALIFRExplorer

In our Federal Republic, the Electoral College is all that stands between us and "majority rule" which is NOT part of our form of government. Our Founding Fathers were not fans of pure Democracy, which would be "majority rule". Read up about their fear of "faction" taking over our political process.
I for one am thankful that the large population centers of this country cannot disregard the will of the rural areas forever.

I understand the need and desire for change and that sometimes there are no good choices in life. I also understand that ignorance is bliss. Forgive me for not being happy. - azrvingExplorerLosers get to burn the cities. Brilliant. Must be all that tolerance and acceptance bs. Well enough of this, back to looking at the Trimetric. lol

I don't have to work today. So I watched until it was over, and waited for the Fat lady to sing. Still waiting - DutchmenSportExplorerWell, I stayed up till 2:00 am and couldn't go any longer. Does that count?
- BedlamModeratorLike what happens every four years - More people are happy than sad. Whether you are in the majority was your choice which is better than the alternative of not having a choice. The pendulum swings left and right - We'll see how much resistance there is to swing another direction which may be neither.
