Not that I know of any other fifth wheel hitch as I was a "bumper pull" guy up until 6 months ago when we upgraded to the new 5er.I get how the whole thing works and that you need to adjust the jam nut in the front of the thing to keep it from flopping around while driving "solo".What I am wondering is just how tight you should put that thing. The "techs" at the shop who did the original install were very concerned about making sure that you don't go too tight, but tight enough to keep it from doing it's thing while driving without the trailer in haul.I sure like the unit while towing though!

Had a Super Glide in our old set-up and really loved the hitch. I had NO complaints about any aspects of it. Tighten the jam-nut just snug enough to keep if from moving. It may need to be tightened periodically as the nylon bushing block wears. You've got a great hitch. FYI, my installer who has owned a hitch shop and been a Pullrite dealer for many years told me to use Slip-Plate dry graphite spray on the moving parts. It will not attract any dirt and grit. Directions said to tighten bolt so there is no play by hand. Mine was like that but at the same time you are supposed to keep well lubed with W-40 which makes for easy sliding when not in use. So I bungeed it down.

So, I'm not a huge fan of my Pullrite Superglide....

I can swing my superglide back to front easily. Glides smoothly. Yet when driving it does not move at all.

What I have wondered is if the aft tilt is set too tight on mine. I cannot tilt it manually.

If you can rotate the hitch past the nylon block by hand with moderate effort then you are good to go.
If it barely hits, too loose. If it takes a strong effort then it is too tight. Yes you may need to tighten a few times as it works in.

Also read pg 11 of the manual

This was for the old SG's. Do not use it on newer ones with the plastic guides. WD40 is recommended.

I pulled the pins to take it out, but cant slide it. does it set down in a hole somewhere

I also had to use the bungee trick to keep the hitch from banging when I didn't have the trailer.

I was told by tech to tighten it until it took about 35 to 40 lbs of pressure pulling on the handle to get the hitch to move back. It's worked for me. I love my hitch. It is a heavy bugger though.

I had one until I purchased a long bed. I love the Pullright, even though it was the style that required spraying rails with slip plate. I adjusted that nut one time, and never had any more banging. I either called Pullright or dealer and they told me how to adjust the nut. Call Pullright. They have excellent customer service, and will walk you through the adjustment. If its adjusted right it will not require a bungee cord to hold it in place when not pulling.

I was told buy tech support for mine to have it pretty snug cause I was having a bump when stopping and pulling out with the camper attached ?? it worked! tech support guy told me that you should almost not be able to straighten the hitch by hand.. I love mine works great

OK, I think you are talking about the plate required on the pin box? There are two types, as far as I know, a Pin Box specific plate, and a universal plate. If you have the universal plate you may get some "slop", and you can not over tighten it as it has a nylon "washer". Talk to your dealer, or get in touch with Pull right to get things straightened out! BTW, I "fixed" my universal plate by welding guides on the sides, keeps things nice and tight! Good luck.
