Well if you think your landing gear needs to extra workout of lifting the coupler 3 or 4" higher to clear the ball, then go for it. To me that is a big negative to the Anderson and gooseneck style hitches. Humping the ball as I call it!
Anderson is big on taking about their compression testing of their frame, but what would happen in a wreck. Seems to me the thing would rip apart much easier than a normal 5th wheel hitch and the trailer would crush into the cab of the tow vehicle.
Have they done any testing with those yellow with black strips dummies?
BTW a ball and coupler is a ball and coupler, and most states require safety chains for ball and coupler hitches. Up down left or right, it is still a ball and coupler. Anderson and Carlisle are both good at talking out of both sides of their mouths.
