This hitch is not difficult to hook up, or at least I don't find it to be. SInce the ball is visible out the back window you just back the ball up to the coupler to where they are almost touching. Lift the trailer a couple of inches then back it in and drop the trailer back down. Can bee hooked up at any angle unlike all the auto slide hitches out there. Peice-o-cake...
As for not having a locking mechanism I could really care less as I know I wouldn't take the time to lock my hitch even if it had the capability. Since you can see the T-handle and the position its in out the back window I feel its safer in this regard compared to a traditional 5er hitch that you can't see the handle from inside the cab. Its also going to be a lot harder to get 2k lb+ pin weight trailer to jump off a ball. Bet you couldn't get it to jump off even if you tried. THis is a mute point as far as I'm concerned.
I have yet to find any negatives about this hitch. And what other hitch can you hang on the wall in your garage.
And yes, my bed is clean when I remove the hitch
