Not so. I have one and that was a concern before I bought it but I have a piece of doweling with a "Jack-in-The-Box" antenna ball on it (just for fun) and I set it in the bed directly in front of the ball. It makes backing in a piece of cake. Not bragging but I never miss. If my wife is handy she tells me when I have gone back far enough but if she's not then I may have to get out once to check that.
Simple as this thing looks, it really works well and I love towing with it. I already had a Mor/ryde Pin box to help with any chucking or clunking but now it seems the trailer and truck are one unit and it rides so smoothly.


I did not get the aluminum because this was already so light and easy to deal with but the aluminum unit is the cats meow!
