Who does the rating?
Compare the B&W Companion Hitch you have for your new truck, to the B&W Turnover Ball Gooseneck Hitch. Your Companion Hitch is rated for 25k and the B&W Turnover Ball is rated for 30k. Compare them side by side, and your Companion Hitch looks much stronger than the Turnover Ball with only the Ball sticking up through the bed. But according to B&W it isn't.
