Wow, lots of great discussion here the past few days!
If I were currently shopping for a fiver and a fiver hitch the Andersen Rail version would be my choice. I prefer the fifth wheel rails over the gooseneck ball. I appreciate the extra tie off points. Even if I needed a gooseneck hitch I would probably use fifth wheel rails and use a gooseneck plate like the ProSeries offers. No chance of the ball getting stuck upside down.... Crawling under the bed of the truck with a sledge hammer is NOT my idea of a good time. Lol.... Not throwing stones...it does happen... Especially on trucks that only occasionally use the gooseneck hitch, where the owners store the ball upside down in the receiver.
After helping my Daddy take his 20k slider hitch out of his truck I would lean Andersen rail version for sure after dealing with that 200 lb monstrosity (great hitch though)
