Seems weird doesn't it. But it really is no problem. I have the Andersen AL version. Some States want safety chains with a Ball Coupler. So I just put them on automatically. It's east to attach the chain hook to the 5ver. About 5 seconds. My 5ver weighs 19,100 lbs.
When hooking up you can see the Ball. Just back the ball up to the Al block mounted on the King Pin. That takes care of the Side to
Side alignment. Then just raise the 5ver to clear the ball. Then just back up a few inches and drop down on the Ball. It's a 'no brainer'. If it was I'd go into tilt.
