I feel the same way. I'd use the chains even if they weren't required. I don't drop and re-hitch trailers often enough to worry about the time it takes to do one more step.
I'm strongly considering the Andersen for the 5'er we have in our future. If I get one, I think I'll leave the chains connected in the bed and hook them to eyes on the trailer adapter when hitching.
But then again, after reading the thread on 5th wheel tongue safety it might be better to leave them hanging from the king pin adapter.
