Ok, I have been doing my research and I think I have narrowed down my shopping list. I am trying to do this right while still being budget-minded. Here's what I got so far, let me know what you think:
- (3) Solar Cynergy 150-watt panels - Solar Blvd
- (3) Z-mount sets of 4 - AZ Wind/Solar
- Roof C-Box combiner box – AM Solar
- (3) 8’ MC4 cables - AZ Wind/Solar
- 35' of black and 35' of blue 4-ga cable - KnuKoncepts.com (I have used their power cable for several audio installs, very nice)
- Blue Seas 6006 m-series switch - Amazon
- Blue Seas 285 Series surface mount 40A breaker - Amazon
- Bogart Engineering SC-2030 (30-amp max) controller - AZ Wind/Solar
- Bogart Engineering Trimetric TM-2030 monitor – AZ Wind/Solar
- Bogart Engineering temp sensor – AZ Wind/Solar
- Deltec 500amp/50mv shunt – AZ Wind/Solar
- 30' of 4-wire (twisted 2-pair) – AZ Wind/Solar
- RJ14 Telephone cable – Lowes
- (2) Trojan T-105 6v batteries - Local vendor
- 2ga battery cable
- Misc installation parts (ring terminals, zip-ties, shrink wrap, etc.
Based on my research this entire set-up (including batteries and all) should run me about $1800 shipped with 450 watts of PMW power with a solid battery monitor. I plan on doing the install myself as the hardest part will be snaking the cables. What do you guys think? Am I missing anything? Anything you would change out? Anything you would omit? You think I need the circuit breaker or disconnect switch on the solar side? I plan on ordering all the parts soon and picking up the solar panels this week.
