Sold the 2014 Torque 5th toyhauler (just shy of 40 ft) and went to a 2016 T-29 Torque travel trailer toyhauler. we love it.only 34 ft total length. saved over 3K in weight. and I love the box. it is not enclosed like the other. we have so much more room to haul. we only owned enclosed box toyhauler but with this new option one, I find I like it better. just suits us.hubby is thrilled we are down to one bathroom...he hated that second dump of the 1/2 bath in the monster LOLalso best thing, the AC KEEPS the entire unit COOL. the 5th, even with 2 ACs we couldn't keep it cool. the box was a sauna literally, where kiddo slept, and since we camp at the beach in very hot weather, the 5th was never cool enough to be nice. This one, omg! We walk in and it is like a meat freezer, yesterday was 98 here and it was so cool I was amazed. yes we are super happy with our purchase. pulls like a dream. we can fit in smaller sites and all that jazz. So far so good. Maiden trip is this sunday. 9 days at the beach. we can't wait to break in this new travel trailer toyhauler :)

You made a fine choice. I also have a 34' Toy Hauler all open. Ducted A/C, nothing like it! Open garage is big at 13'. Happy camping. Love my Stealth Toy Hauler. Have a cold one for me.

thanks guysand those Stealths are nice. we saw one we loved but it wasn't anywhere near our location area now....but Stealth is worth a check in the future for sure for us when we 'get our final' full time retirement rig.yea---open box---who knew LOL we didn't :)

Congrats on new trailer! I like the one big open room layout of the older style toyhaulers. When the industry started going to the garage wall seperation layouts, I lost interest in toyhaulers.

For a short bumper pull toyhauler to have a slideout and still have room to haul the toys, the slideout would have to be all the way up front, in the kitchen and bathroom area. That would make the hitch weight heavier, which would make the trailer not able to be pulled by lighter trucks and SUV's that don't have enough payload and rear axle weight capacity. The lure of the smaller trailers is that you don't need a 1-ton to pull them.

my 34 ft one has a 1/2 slide for the dinnette couch table. What I love about it is on a long travel if we stop for a 4-5 hr sleep at a truck stop or wherever, we can slide it out, and kiddo has a bed to sleep.

I bet they could make a shorter one with a slide but like Dirt said, it then adds weight and more people with smaller trucks would be put out of buying--maybe??

WE ALL NEED TO BE RV DESIGNERS :) :)

17 foot RPods have bump outs. I'm guessing because I only see toy hauler bump outs with a separate garage, that it's an issue of layout. With the bump out in, there's no longer room for toys.

swamp, we started with a truck camper, than small TT and got progressively bigger, to the monster 5th. Only one TT drove hubby nuts, the 34' Hornet, made out of wood framing and he said it pulled like a log wagon :)

the 5ths pull wonderful and turn great but a good TT also does the same so according to hubby, this TT is a pulling dream to him

We opted for a Weekend Warrior travel trailer toy hauler. Our first hauler. Even when not moving a bike around with us, we enjoy all the space the garage offers as well as using the ramp as a deck. This trailer is nowhere near as nice as the Mobile Suites, but I'm actually enjoying it more at this point. More relaxed not having so much stuff to worry about every time we hit the road. At only 33', maneuvering into tight spaces is typically done in one attempt.

I hear you on going smaller, that 33 is a far cry from 41

but I know what you mean on 'not as nice' cause this smaller is 'great' but not like the 'better interiors' etc. that came with the big toy 5th.

the big toys are beautiful and mine was sweet, but in the end it comes down to that floorplan that suits ya best, and finally I am seeing that what I thought was best, really wasn't for us. live and learn for sure :)

On my 5th it has a kitchen slide that went under the front awning and that used up alot of space. Now I have no slide there, all awning open space. I love that, another big room to me to use...and I use it :) I never want a slide interfering with my awning space ever again. that I learned also

That's another huge issue with their fifth wheel, the awnings are useless with the slide out. The way I camp, I really only sleep in my camper and use the fridge and bathroom. I don't have a TV or other creature comforts.

Really the big RVs are nice. But there are definitely drawbacks people don't always consider. I keep debating on getting a small fifth wheel. And yet I keep my 21 footer which is perfect for our needs. That's the great thing about campers, everyone has their own needs and there's a camper built for about everyone.
