Sold our 5th wheel

We sold our fifth wheel today so after 8 years we do not own an RV. We had bought a park model with a Florida room this past winter in a Florida campground so with spending a lot of time there not much time for camping. I will become a lurker here but hopefully can answer some questions. Not saying goodbye to camping, just a different way to go.
  • Samsphones,

We also sold out last 5th whl., the 9th one in our list. I feel like I lost my best friend but mostly the traveling life style. We traveled a lot over the years, 6 trips from Alaska to Mexico, twice around the US, approx. 30 Alaska Hyw trips with a 5th whl. Wore out 3 pick-ups. That is all gone for us.

We did purchase a Jayco 40' FER Bungalow which is a destination travel trailer. It is a park it and stay rig. We parked it in Casa Grande, Az. It is a great place to live in but not for running all over the place on a regular basis. Maybe in time the 5th.whl. thing will go away but I doubt it.

Good luck with your new life style.

I will change my sign. picture when I figure out how.

    Jack in Alaska

Good luck on the new chapter...you are still in a campground so you are still camping. I mean, will you have a campfire, cook outside, sit in a lounge chair and watch the trailers come and go, then you are camping.
Sorry about the typo, have corrected it.

  • But, but, what will you WORK on? :)
Oh that's right, a homeowners work is never done either. We consider that option too. Good for you, enjoy.
