I'm gonna buy one just cause it has more cargo volume, according to the commercial. I carry a lot of $hit, and there's always that one turd that falls out cause I don't have enough volume. I don't care how much it can tow, or its payload, just VOLUME baby! Boy, that's really stretching.:)

Right on! I think the Chevy ads are the worst.

To those of us that tow RV's and use our trucks for other hauling tasks know that those Chevy ads are pure nonsense but to Joe Blow who decides he needs a Pick Em Up Truck so he can go to the Home Improvement Center and get a lot of stuff for the new homestead, it will stick in his head. That commercial boasting of having the most volume will be a huge selling point. Then of course when the rear of that 1/2 ton truck sags more and more because he's putting too much stuff in there, he'll think..."Why is my truck sagging? I still have volume left. Like the old joke...I can't be out of money. I still have checks left HAHAHAHA

Just comes off as desperate and lack of confidence in its own brand, you don’t see Ram, Nissan or Toyota trying to do that.

The GMC tailgate commercial is pretty confident.

Something many have over looked are higher bed rails, OR a a lower bed floor.
My new Ram the bed is 1-1/2" to 2" deeper than the 2001, yet the rails are almost the same height at the tailgate.
I didn't need to adjust my 5er hitch, as the Reese picture frame adapter raised it about 2" so I still have about 6" rail clearance.
It did allow me to lift my tool box about 1-1/2" so I can get a 4'X8' sheet of plywood in the bed and close the tailgate.

What cracks me up is all the ads bragging about highest towing and/or payload in half-ton pickups.
If that’s your concern why would you buy a half-ton?
But I know the average consumer thinks a full size half ton is a huge truck, and 3/4 or one-tons are semi trucks only bought by commercial firms.
