What typically powers those Isuzu trucks? The 2006 Chevy I have has something in common with it. Yeah, I know it says Duramax diesel on the side of the truck but it is actually an Isuzu 6.6L V8 diesel. Excellent motor I might add.
Always wondered why the US does not use trucks such as the Hino & Isuzu for 5er hauling? Maybe it is because the country is so big pickup crazy to begin with. Maybe it is crash safety requirements? I don't know.
You sure do get a nice view from up in those cab over trucks. Takes a very agile person to get in & out of them too. Maybe that is part of it? Not practical for the 60 plus crowd.
US Isuzu's are different, they have steel suspensions . The Isuzu v8, is not used outside NA. Engines are 7.7 litre to 15 litre Diesels. Yes you have a real Pickup thing that would puzzle, people from Europe.
60plus crowd are the main users of the LD and MDT Japanese Truck 5vers here.
I've always wondered why Benz, which does make trucks, never introduced a pickup here. Given what people will spend on a Big 3 truck to customize it, I figured MB could build that from the factory for less. Same for Isuzu; why not a pickup to compete with our 3/4 and 1 ton trucks? They already build a great engine for it...though that 15 liter sounds fun. :-)
