SOS SOS SOS... Need some quick advice, and thank you ahead of time. I am purchasing a new 2014 5th, Keystone Avalanche model 355rk 3slides. anyone own one of these? here are some specs I have for it. I own a 2001 Ford F250 4dr. Diesel 7.3 long bed. I have a BANKS Stinger Plus installed in it and a transcommand. I have an extra transmission cooler also. Will I be safe all the way around towing with my truck?
Shipping weight 11696
Carrying Cap 3304
Hitch 2865
Length 37' 11"
Height 12' 5"
Thank you all again
Rudy..
If you buy that fiver you'd better rush out and buy a new truck to go with it, AT LEAST a modern 1-ton, preferably a dually.
That fiver will SERIOUSLY overload the 2001 3/4 ton. In fact I'd go as far as DANGEROUSLY overload the truck.
That 2865# hitch weight will increase by 25% of everything you load into the fiver.
Start with batteries and propane, than add your personal stuff.
Better figure a pin weight well north of 3000#.
The truck needs to carry that, plus the weight of the hitch, plus the weight of occupants and "stuff" in the truck.
You need a MINIMUM payload capacity of 3600#-4000#.
I suggest you do a LOT more homework!

I tow a 2005 Copper Canyon 293 FWSLS, with our 2001 Quad Cab Ram 2500.
The stated weights on this 5er are below. We tow it at between 11,000 and 11,300 or so.
GVWR 12,360
Dry 9,820
Towed pin 2,000#
So we are towing at 600# less than your Dry weight. When towing we are running a TV GVW of 10,000#, on a rating of 8,800#. The TV is a Camper Special and came from the factory with one ton springs and larger tire with a higher rating 3,415# to 3,042# for stock.
That said I am 634# UNDER the stock rear axle rating of 6,084#.
With a dry hitch of 2,865# DRY, you need to be looking for a new TV.
I will say my setup tows and handles great, but I will not get a bigger 5er, we may end up adding another 500# or so to the 5er when we go Full Time.
The only number I exceed is the GVWR,you are likely to exceed axle and tire if they are 245/75-16 E's.
