What would any of you recommended the Max I go on a 5th?
Fleet Ford specs says your year model F250 7.3 diesel can tow up to a 13,200 lb trailer which it will have no problems pulling down the road. The truck brakes will stop the truck and the trailers brakes will stop the trailer. If your don't then get the fixed.
Your F250 simply doesn't have the (6084 RAWR) wheels/tires and rear spring pack for carrying a 14k-15k lb trailers pin weight without some serious mods for carrying more weight.
Having made a living pulling 15k GN trailers with mostly LDTs I sure would put a old truck on the road and expect it to last very long pulling that heavy load.
I would stick with Fords 13k max trailer weight and 2500 lb range wet pin weights for your older truck.
