spring chickens...

What a beautiful, and fortunate couple. Being able to do what you both enjoy, able to live your dreams, in your later years, is something most are unable to achieve, as a couple. I congratulate you!! No matter ones wealth, you still need your health, including a sharp mind, required to operate a fair sized rig, in today's traffic.

Well, I can't resist. She is still a great looking woman although she ain't no spring chicken--and, for sure, neither am I. Our daughter took this photo last month (January, 2020) on a trip to Natchitoches, Louisiana. I turned 87 in October, the "no spring chicken -- good looking woman -- turned 84 the same month.

And we are still towing our 34' HitchHiker fifth-wheel. Just got back yesterday from Tyler State Park. And celebrated her birthday in North Carolina in October on a 2250 mile RV trip of three weeks.

Yes you do! I will add, that to some, not as familiar with weapons, and weapon training, you likely look a little fierce in that first pic. Not a problem for me, would love to spend a few days camped near you.:C

Not a bad thread title choice at all, even though Spring chicken was originally a reference to women. The title got a lot of looks in a short time, but not many member pics posted. I'm sure many have privacy concerns, and I respect that! I have enjoyed this forum for a while, and seems like I know some of the members. To me it's interesting to see what they look like! I take pride in keeping myself in good shape, in fact, just finished my daily exercise work out. All that posted pics look to be in good shape, but no matter your age/shape, all are welcome to post a pic. I'm hoping my forum friend Old Biscuit posts a pic. I'd love to camp next to him, a very knowledgeable, and interesting fellow for sure!

Here are a few.

The phrase 'No Spring Chicken' is usually used in a negative way to describe someone who is no longer young, probably past his young adulthood, and sometimes doesn't realize it and tries to look and act younger than his age.

no spring chicken. No longer a young person, as in Sally's no spring chicken, but she plays a fine game of tennis. This unflattering expression, often applied to women, has been used since the early 1700s, although spring was omitted from the earliest citation (1711).

Thanks Barney, we had our quota by 8:15 in the morning... I could hardly move my shoulders and cranking elbow for a few days after that trip... Those stripers were running hard and close to shore, only about 100 yards or so.
