I have a similar vintage Komfort, though larger. Mine came with D-range tires and I've since switched to E's. I've always run my E's at 80 psi, just on general principal, especially when loaded. I =have= de-aired when empty, but did not notice any ride, handling or braking difference at 70 vs 80 psi. To the OP, I might consider running at 65 psi for a while, then drop to 60 for a while and see if you notice any difference. Yes, you will have a very slightly smaller contact patch. Enough to make enough difference; who knows? I'd bet that any difference would fall into the "statistical error" category if a rigorous study were done. :-) FWIW, I have the Carlisle RH's and am going on my 3rd year. Slight weather checking, even though covered and on boards in storage. AZ sun is hell on tires, even in the shade. There is NO speed limit on the side of the tire, and I've looked on both sides to be sure. I do tend to run 60 mph when possible, 65 when I need to make a few more miles and fuel burn isn't an issue (i.e. when she says, "get there now".) :-)
