Maybe I am weirdly hypersensitive, but when our 6 pound Yorkie runs from one end of the RV to the other and it feels like the earth is shaking, I am concerned (and a little freaked out). We have a 41' Starcraft Solstice, there are four tires on the ground and four landing legs (front and rear). We have set slide-out supports under the one hydraulic slide (dining).Other than investing in a six-point automated leveling system ($2500+, I think), what can we do to stop the wobble? All reasonable suggestions cheerfully accepted.And Happy Holidays to you all.

Not much other than getting a heavier rv. My cousin has a 40' Allegro Bus diesel pusher and one can still feel, although slight, the motion as people move about the coach. On my TH I have 6 tires, 6 hydraulic jacks, 2 scissor jacks and we still feel someone moving about. You'll get feedback through the tires and springs and the trailer's chassis isn't that stout. Just something to get used to.

First off.......Remove those slide out supports. Slide outs are 'self supporting' and do NOT need supports under them. Those aftermarket items can cause damage to slide out from the upward pressure especially should RV settle.They are just a means of getting your RV Monies.If needed the RV MFG. would have included them with the rig.And if you think this is just my opinion..check with your RV MFG. about their useAs for stabilizing the rig..Adding an aftermarket item that DOES help is JT Strong Arms or any other brand.They are criss-cross supports that go from front landing gear to frame and rear stabilizers to frame.They remove that side to side sway X-Chocks between tires both sides ....they help remove that for/aft motionAnd one thing I do to make rig more solid:After rig is leveled side to side and getting ready to unhook truck I run landing gear down several inches THEN drop inner leg and pin themLess inner leg used---less wobbleI run landing gear until rig is level front to rear Lower front landing gear 1" below levelRun rear stabilizers down TIGHTThen run front landing gear back up the 1" to level Still will have a 'little' motion due to tires/suspensionBut you can also place a couple of bottle jacks under frame by wheels to minimize/stop that motion

We use Steadfast. Great system that only uses 3 arms. You only have to tighten 3 LARGE wing nuts that are on the edge of the coach, not way under it, so it is a breeze to set up and loosen when moving. It truly takes away most of the movement on our 34' Cameo 5th.

Yes, but if the rv settles over those 6 months and jacks put under the slides don't, then you will cause damage to the slides. The tt can sink because of the weight. Jacks under the slides won't carry much weight so they won't sink at the same rate. This causes the jacks to push up on the slides which will damage them and the tracks. Not worth it. Slides are fine without support.

Modern powered slides need no support. Older, mostly manual, slides might have needed them. If your slide appears to be sagging, you've got bigger problems than supports will fix.

I added scissor jacks ahead of our front tires years ago. I agree this is a great way to lessen spring bounce and with our JT's we are as good as we can be.

And one thing I do to make rig more solid:
After rig is leveled side to side and getting ready to unhook truck I run landing gear down several inches THEN drop inner leg and pin them
Less inner leg used---less wobble

I run landing gear until rig is level front to rear
Lower front landing gear 1" below level
Run rear stabilizers down TIGHT
Then run front landing gear back up the 1" to level

Still will have a 'little' motion due to tires/suspension
But you can also place a couple of bottle jacks under frame by wheels to minimize/stop that motion

Ditto what Old Biscuit said. One other thing you might try is adding a king pin support.

If you don't have them, X chocks on both sides. That alone may cure or help that moving feeling! If that is not enough, get the JT strong arms, they cross and go from the frame on one side to the bottom of the levelers on the other and greatly reduce the side to side sway. Get rid of the slide supports, they will harm your slides, slides stay stationary while the 5th wheel sways, can't be good for the slide. Good luck.
