Stabilization

Lot of side to side movement in 5'er--considering BAL telescopic jacks--also adding another xchock as only have chock on one side--please advise

  • Do a search on fifth wheel stabilizers.....you will find lots there.

    The ones I made might even be there.

  • We have xchocks and they don't do a thing for side to side rocking . Did some research and we are going to install the steadyfast system. On another note we went into some 5ers at a show that had the 6 point level up system and they were as solid as a rock but they will cost you $4800
  • Tried the checks, tried the king pin tri pod, tried the extra crank down jacks. Then I found these cross stabilizer bars based out of California that cross the trailer. Nothing is perfect, but if I forget to lock the barS during setup DW let's me know pretty quick. It is called Steadyfast, google it and check out th video. I was sceptical until I put them on mine then slept in my inlaws the next weekend and couldn't sleep for the rocking. Like I said nothing is perfect but these make a big difference.

    We eliminated our trailer movement by;

    1: buying a pair of tripod adjustable stands for the slideout took care of side to side movement
    (Amazon $ 46 pair?)

    2: 0ne Bal deluxe chock ( the big one)
    Took care of rocking motion
    I modified the chock by gluing some scrap rubber from an old mat
    To the chock pads
    I think the rubber improved the grip
    And eliminated the metal to tire contact which I didnt like
  • I just ran a thread on the same problem on our TT and X chocks were one of the recommendations.
  • If you don't have a king pin stabilizer tri-pod...get one.

    Happy camping!!! See y'all down the road!!!:)
