Another thing to do us to block up your stabilizers so you have less extension. That will also help a lot with stability. I know that the 4-point auto-level system on our KZ is so much more stable than our old Komfort, with old-school stabilizers, that I've forgotten to tighten up the factory-installed JTs and not noticed it for a while. :B

  • The nice thing about JT and similar stabilizes is when sitting in a windy day or night you will know why they are great. Chevman

  • JT Strong Arm work great for us.
Our Cougar has the rear slide out bumper, so we did not bother with the rear JT.
But the front system really makes a difference.

  • From my experience with a tripod for the pin, they aren't really effective. We got rid of ours after two seasons of trying to make it work. We have the JT Strongarms, and they do work.

If you're staying in one place for several months you could try some screw-type jacks under the frame. I've heard of people doing that with good results.

No need under the pin, get JT Strongarms.

  • What kind of 5th wheel stabilizer are you considering? And why are you considering it?
  • I hear good things about the JT Strong Arm's and the steadyfast models but whatever you decide, don't waste your money on the tripod type. They're worthless.
