I had some Timbrens on my 2012 GMC 3500 when I had it and did not like the way it road empty or hooked up to our current fifth wheel. I put a set of Air Lifts with the remote compressor on it and it really made a difference because I was pushing the weight limits of the truck pretty hard. When we decided we needed to quit fighting it and go to our dually I took the Air Lifts off before I sold the 2012. I did not think I would put them on the new truck but couldn't see wasting them and decided to give it a try. I get very little deflection when hooked up without any air in the bags but just adding 20 pounds of air to them makes a difference in the smoothness of the ride. The wife can always tell when I forget to add the air.
